Intro

Civil engineers with construction management skills can develop project plans that meet engineering requirements, construction timelines and regulations. They can communicate with engineers, architects and contractors, making sure that everyone works together throughout the project.

Our Civil Engineering with Construction Management BEng(Hons) degree will equip you with comprehensive skills to manage construction projects from design to completion. You’ll explore construction management, design of structures and project planning, as well as structures, materials, geotechnics and hydraulics.

Our Civil Engineering with Construction Management MEng course offers an extra year of study at masters level.

Entry criteria

Entry requirements

A-levels or BTEC
Entry requirements are in the range of A-level BBB–BCC (120–104 UCAS Tariff points), or BTEC Extended Diploma DDM–MMM. You will be considered if your predicted grades fall above or within this range.

A-level maths, or its equivalent, is normally a requirement for entry. BTEC should include at least an M in further maths. 

International Baccalaureate
26 points, with three subjects at Higher level. Higher level subjects to include maths at grade 5.

Access to HE Diploma
Pass with 60 credits overall in engineering or science diploma. At least 45 credits at level 3, with 24 credits at merit or above with overall distinction profile. Must achieve maths level 3 units at distinction.

Foundation degree/HND
International foundation may be considered. Applicants with an HND may be considered for year 2 entry.

Studied before or got relevant experience?
A qualification, HE credits or relevant experience may count towards your course at Brighton and could mean that you do not have to take some elements of the course or can start in year 2 or 3. 

English language requirements

Year 1

You will explore the fundamental elements of civil engineering in relation to business, society and the sustainability of the built and natural environment.

You will also undertake a group project linked to the Engineering for People Design Challenge.

Modules
